Dear educators, researchers and writers

You are invited to submit a paper for possible inclusion in a special issue of Critical pedagogy and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education: Rethinking Critical Pedagogy (ISSN: 2717-8927).

Over the last 30 years, governments and corporate-driven think tanks have fiercely promoting STEM education in the world. STEM became a driving force of K-16 education in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world. STEM education campaign is part of larger corporate agenda to promote and maintain neoliberal hegemony.

Considering underpinning ontological and epistemological background, STEM education resonates with standardized curriculum and assessment, memorization of facts and procedures and transmission style of education. There are numberless articles, writings and other resources to promote and propagate this corporate-driven STEM movement. However, there is a scarce of critical STEM studies that unpack neoliberal ideology and corporate agenda that informs this utilitarian STEM education. More than any other time, critical studies & researches are needed to comprehensively analyze STEM movement to document oppressive and liberating potentials of STEM education.

RCP welcomes critical studies-articles; especially STEM articles for its next issue. Please spread the word

Due date for submission is February 15, 2021
